Baseball bat killing: Appeals court reduces charge, prompting outrage

A man who beat his girlfriend to death with a baseball bat at their Croton-on-Hudson home and was sentenced to up to life behind bars in 2009 could be freed from prison as soon as this year after an appellate court set aside a jury verdict and ordered that he be resentenced.
